A Pair of Louis XV Silver Egg-Cups, Maker's Mark D?S, Paris, 1774, each openwork, the sides formed as foliage and flower swags below a reeded rim, on three hoof fee and with slightly domed base with baluster finial, the bases engraved with initials 'N*D*P'; Together With: a pair of Elizabeth II Silver Eggs, by S. J. Phillips, London, 1998 and a pair of Victorian Silver Egg-Spoons, by George Adams, London, 1855, King's pattern, in fitted red leather covered case, the case 19.5cm wide, weight of silver 9oz 1dwt, 281gr

The egg-cups: marked underneath with maker's mark, charge and date letter L. The edge of the foot with the décharge of both Jean Baptiste Fouache (une tête de singe) and Julien Alaterre (une tête de femme de profile regardant à gauche). The rim with later tax mark. There is wear to the marks. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the high points.

The eggs: fully marked underneath. The marks are clear. There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use.

The spoons: fully marked on stem. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The spoons have possibly been replaced.

The box: there are some minor surface scratches and scuffs.
