An Early 19th Century Flintlock 14 Bore Single Barrel Sporting Gun, the 77cm round barrel octagonal at the breech, with Birmingham proof marks, the later lock plate signed Conway, the walnut half stock with silver plated fore-end tip, foliate engraved S scroll trigger guard, chequered grip and silver plated escutcheon, the left side of the butt with raised cheekpiece, with brass tipped wood ramrod, 117cm, contained in a brass bound mahogany case, 83cm by 25cm by 8cm, the hinged cover with inset brass ring handle engraved Joseph Craven, Prospect House, Nr. Bradford, the green baize lined interior fitted with accessories comprising a brass syphon oil flask, a copper powder flask and a leather shot flask.

Action works, holds at full and half cock. Frizzen spring is missing. The lock plate appears to be laid over a slightly larger plate. Rust pitting to the barrel and steel furniture. Each side of the fore-end has been patched with slivers of wood which in turn have been broken. The chequering is worn, with minor bruising to the stock. The butt has been extended at some point in its life. The case has been cleaned and the cover has a small split to the left side.
