A 16th Century `Andrea Ferrara' Scottish Broadsword, the 94cm double edge steel blade with two 18cm

A 16th Century `Andrea Ferrara' Scottish Broadsword, the 94cm double edge steel blade with two 18cm narrow fullers to each side at the ricasso, each fuller stamped * ANDRIA FARARA followed by a trefoil leaf and tendril, with wrought flat S scrolling crossguard, ribbed walnut grip and compressed globular iron pommel, contained in a late Victorian mahogany glazed display cabinet set with a brass plaque engraved "ANDREA FEREARA (sic) SWORD, FOUND AT SIDEHEAD FARM IN WEARDALE, CO. DURHAM", together with a letter and ephemera referring to its discovery by a farm labourer when trenching land.
