A Victorian 1845 Pattern Burnley Rifles Officer's Sword, the 83cm single edge fullered steel blade crisply etched with crowned VR cypher, ribbon legends inscribed Burnley Rifles centred by a strung bugle, with scrolling foliage, the ricasso with F.H and maker's name Gurney & Co., St. James's St. London, the gothic steel hilt pierced with strung bugle and with wire bound fishskin grip, with steel scabbard
**Said to have belonged to a Lieutenant Brown of the Burnley Rifles
