Religious Manuscripts.
A Charitable Caveat for the over confident, Being also A plaine, full and modest answere to a manuscript sett abroad in English wherein the goeing of Catholick servants in generall to protestant churches, for performing civill duty to their masters: and the goeing also of others, so it be not in obedience to the law of the land, is defended as lawfull.
Ink manuscript in a single hand, [1], 205 pp., including 4 blanks, preface dated and signed 'June 12, 1663. B.P.R.D.D.', mostly 22 lines per page with marginal gloss to some, pagination supplied in manuscript, large library ink stamp to front free endpaper, small shelfmark label to front pastedown and spine, contemporary limp vellum binding, remnants of ties, all edges red, together with

Highlights include a first edition of an important work on the English colonies in America and the West Indies published in 1687, a collection of watercolours depicting landscapes and ancient sites of Egypt and the Middle East, and a selection of mid-19th century albumen print photographs of Rome. Further notable lots include plates from a mid-18th century plan of Paris by Michael Etienne Turgot, a Victorian autograph album and a copy of Eugene Grasset's 'Plants and the Application to Ornament'.
