Natural History: Sawfish Rostrum (Pristidae app), circa 1900-1920, an example of a large Sawfish rostrum, 54 teeth, 92cm long, mounted upon a stepped ebonised plinth base, overall height including base 106cm.

Also known as carpenter sharks, are a family of rays characterised by a long, narrow, flattened rostrum, or nose extension, lined with sharp transverse teeth, in a way that resembles a saw.
