A US .44 Calibre Remington New Model Army Six Shot Revolver, the 20cm octagonal steel barrel numbered 70540, the top rib stamped "PATENTED SEPT.14.1858 E.REMINGTON & SONS. ILION.NEW YORK. U.S.A. NEW MODEL", with underlever rammer, cylinder stamped R, brass trigger guard stamped B, the walnut two piece grip bearing traces of varnish.
