A Westley Richards & Co .577/.450 Calibre Martini Henry Rifle, number 8073, the 84.5cm round steel barrel with blade and ramp fore sight and hinged adjustable rear sight, the top stamped WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. HENRY RIFLING, and with Birmingham proof marks, the knox form stamped with a triangle enclosing 1896, the left side of the receiver with maker's mark below triangle trade mark, the opposing side stamped MADE SPECIALLY FOR Z A R, each side with a split baluster lever to remove the lock and with an integral cocking indicator, the walnut half stock with chequered fore-end and grip and with cocking lever secured to the heel of the chequered semi-pistol grip, the left side of the butt with raised cheekpiece, the trigger guard faintly scratched ZAR 169, with steel sling swivels, 125.5cm

Action works. In restored condition with very crisp sharp chequering to the stock.

Highlights to include an extensive collection of police helmet plates, badges, belts, handcuffs, and helmets from the Victorian era and the first half of the 20th century, and an interesting collection of powder horns and flasks. The Ethnographica section includes is a Collection of Inuit Art comprising knives, weapons, utensils and decorative objects
