. Retouching and overpainting to upper left hand corner, upper right hand corner and outline of the archway. General strengthening to the outline and roofs of the city skyline (not including the castle), in addition to the boats water area, foliage of the tree on the right hand side have also had some general strengthening. Patch of retouching just below the horses back right hoof approx 1-1.5cm by 0.5cm. Further triangular shaped patch of restoration and repainting lower edge approx centre and roughly 3cm across at the base by 3cm to tip. Odd isolated area of strengthening to definition of horses body. Further patch of repainting in line with the horses head below the group of figures and is approx 6cm wide by 2-3cm. Further odd less significant patch of retouching elsewhere to canvas including lower corners. Patch repair to reverse of canvas accounting to aforementioned area of restoration below the group of figures. Paint slightly thin in places, most notably within the upper corners. Medium to large sized isolated stable craquelure. Slight stretcher shadow. Light surface dirt, discoloured varnish. Canvas every so slightly buckled to centre.

We are happy to provide Condition Reports to Prospective Buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale.

We cannot guarantee a reply to any requests made within 48 hours of the start of the auction. The absence of a condition report from a lot does not mean that the lot is in perfect condition.

 A Condition Report is an honest expression of our opinion, not a statement of fact and is provided as a service to the Seller. All lots are available on public view ahead of an auction and we encourage people to see an item in person when possible.

Our Condition Reports are not prepared by professional conservators, restorers or engineers, and are prepared with the naked eye unless otherwise stated.

 Works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. We accept no liability for the opinions expressed in any Condition Report.
