A Staffordshire Pottery Two-Handled "Pure Milk" Pail, circa 1930, of typical conical "banded" form with lion paw terminals to the shoulder handles, transfer printed in black with two pasturing cows above the inscription Pure Milk, printed mark in black Parnall The Shopkeeper's Shop Proprietors; W&T Avery Ltd, Parnall & Sons, 27 Summer Row, Birmingham. Works Broadmead, Bristol, 40cm diameter, 30.5cm high, together with a period aluminium hinged flat lid

Apart from discolouration, rubbing and small flakes on the rim, the piece appears good overall. Some crazing to the glaze on the inside particularly. The lid has become misshapen and is wire repaired. 081009
