A Rare Colt First Model Dragoon Six Shot Percussion Revolver, the 19cm cylindrical barrel stamped ADDRESS. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK CITY on the top flat near the breech, the cylinder bearing traces of engraved Texas Ranger and Indian scene, stamped 3040 and with oval cylinder-stops, under-lever rammer, the left side of the frame stamped COLT'S PATENT US, with brass trigger guard and back strap, walnut grip, all metal parts numbered 3040 for 1848, together with original leather holster

The action works. Traces of silvering around the brass trigger guard. Some wear and minor pitting to metal parts. Matching numbers. Left grip has a chip to front corner and two deep bruises to the back corner, the opposing side has minor bruising. The holster has minor loss to the stitching below where the trigger guard sits. The surface of the leather is a little flaky and cracked, but generally in good order with a nice rich patina.
