An 18th Century Flintlock `Brown Bess' Musket (Second Model) by Clark of London, the 107cm steel barrel struck with Tower proof marks of two crowned crossed sceptres and engraved LONDON, the rounded banana shaped lock plate signed CLARK, the walnut full stock with brass furniture of three ramrod pipes (originally four - one missing), trigger guard, side plate stamped 55 and butt plate, the tang engraved N.Y. 31, with steel sling swivels and ramrod, the stock stamped \I\ and indistinct initials beneath the ramrod

Strong action works, holds at full and half cock. There is a old restoration work to the stock around the lock and trigger guard. Minor bruising. One ramrod pipe missing Brown patination to the barrel which has been cleaned off at the muzzle and engraved area
