A Late 17th Century Geometric-Moulded Straight-Front Oak Chest of Drawers, of attractive proportions, the moulded top above five small drawers and a two-as-one drawer fitted to the base, on stile feet

The top has various ring marks and stains and also has a small split. The top is also slightly misshapen. The chest is structurally sound, with various small splits and repairs throughout consistent with age, mainly around the side panels (as photographed). Previous handle marks visible to the three small top drawers. Please see further images.

An eclectic and decorative mixture of antiques and contemporary art will be coming under the hammer this autumn, when the Selected Contents of Bell Hall, Naburn, York, will appear in a single-owner sale at Tennants Auctioneers on 15th November.
The collection was put together over several decades, and draws together good period oak furniture, folk art, 19th century samplers, and Asian art alongside modern and contemporary paintings, ceramics and works of art, many pieces with an animal theme.
