The Library of Imperial History, 1973-76, octavo, plates and maps, original vellum, gilt, spines gilt, all edges gilt, some natural variation to vellum, slipcases with gilt decoration, a few white and surface marks to a few slipcases, an excellent set.
One of circa 1750 sets (limitation bookplates loosely inserted in Essays volumes, not present in other volumes); The Library of Imperial History went into liquidation before the full 3000 proposed sets were published. [Cohen AA1; Woods p. 391].
