Unlined, one key missing, slightly lacking in tension. Stretcher bar marks and associated cracking along all sides (stable). Stable brittle age craquelure throughout, some slighly raised. Two long diagonal retouched series of 'herringbone' impact cracks and possible minor losses - one 15cm long, and on 10cm long mid left of painting running from top left to centre. A further series of retouched losses approx. 10cm x 2cm running vertically in centre of painting, and further retouched losses measuring 1.5inches to 2inches approx in: upper right corner (ringed by yellow halo), to right of second tree from left and one above this tree, and in middle of nearest hill. Further tiny touches of overpaint to suppress cracks and tiny losses. One fresher unrestored tiny loss in brown in centre foreground. The retouching is slightly matte.

Partially cleaned in past, leaving a patchy yellow appearance in the lighter passages. Upper glossy varnish, light surface dirt.
