An interesting collection of sketchbooks and albums with original artwork, comprising:
York, thirty-five watercolour and pencil sketches of York and Yorkshire, [late 20th century], sheet size 175mm x 255mm, some very nice images in a distressed cloth album (lacking backstrip, some leaves and upper board detached);
York, thirty-one pencil sketches of buildings and scenery in and around York, [19th century], two sketches on the reverse of others, sheet size 205mm x 270mm, worn half leather album;
Yorkshire Buildings, an album of architectural watercolour sketches, plans and tables, [20th century], sheet size 227mm x 289mm, five watercolours of buildings loosely inserted, cloth-backed boards;
Yorkshire Buildings, an album of architectural watercolour sketches and tables by C.M. Little, York, 1956, sheet size 177mm x 255mm, cloth-backed boards;
Buildings, an album of architectural watercolour sketches, no date [20th century], sheet size 125mm x 180mm, boards (wear to head of spine);
Continental Watercolours, a nineteenth century album containing manuscript entries and mounted artwork, the album was possibly acquired in the South Tyrol and the majority of the attractive watercolours are of continental scenes. At the beginning of the album is a two page manuscript entry, addressed to Pauline ?Creacher ‘La femme amiable’ in French, dated Paris 18 Juin **40 and signed Charles ?Mangerin, manuscript entries at the very front and the rear are in English, all edges gilt, original roan gilt binding with ‘Paolina’ to upper board, both boards and backstrip detached;
Commonplace book, a small quarto album, the manuscript entries interleaved in places with pencil sketches, several on brown card, heightened with white, rear endpaper signed W. Jameson, half leather gilt binding. (7)
