A Japanese Lotus Form Vase, Meiji period (1868-1912), of ovoid form overlaid with lotus petals each decorated with a ronin on a trellis moulded ground between yellow borders decorated with blue and iron red lappet rims, bronze mount, 52cm high

There are chips to three of the tips of the overlapping petals. The yellow glaze to the neck is very lumpy and has separated in places. The interior rim is very fritted. The bronze mount to the rim has verdigris. One of the lower petals has a hairline crack running through the halo of the seated deity into the diapered ground. The diapered surface of all the leaf petals has fritting. There is a crack running from the pontil type mark to the underside of the base through the rim and runs for 11cm through one of the leaf panels. 150715
