Winifred May Whiteside (b.c.1901): An Arts & Crafts Gold Pendant Cross, circa 1920, the central boss cloisonné enamelled with the Lamb of God, the arms with wire borders, terminating in cloisonné enamelled panels with REX - DUX - LEX - LUX, unmarked, 12.5cm long (Original fitted case)

Literature: An edition of the Daily Chronicle from 1921 records a similar cross as having been, "included in the exhibition which won Miss Whiteside admittance to The Royal Society of Miniature Painters, which reserves a certain number of vacancies for craft workers".

No marks - not tested (we will not do an acid test on this piece). Chip in central enamel - above the rear end of the lamb and below the tail. Deep scratch through front leg. Light surface scratches over the enamel. Chips in the REX enamel. Tiny chip to to right LUX. Minor wear consistent with use. See additional images on website. 101115
