Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), C D Sassoon & Co Ltd, Bombay 1941, rug with head mount, jaw agape with snarling expression, on original racing green felt and khaki canvas with taxidermists' ink stamp (and date 1941), and also 42 yds, 197cm long nose tip to tail tip, 197cm wide across forelimbs

Front left paw with all five claws extent. Front right paw with all five claws extent. Rear right paw with four claws extent. Rear left paw with four claws extent. Bullet hole on right shoulder. Streaky moth damage (ie devoid of fur in patches throughout). Colour very reasonable for a specimen of this age. Edges possibly recut and off the backing material. Stress tears where the skin meets the head. Right ear splitting on edge slightly. Whiskers 99% gone. Heavily worn nose leather and balding on the nose. All canines with tip chips and flakes. Stitching under chin opening up. Gums reasonable but flaking and some of the internal gums (towards back of throat) damaged. Would require restorations. Sold a/f. 150413
