A Good Mahogany Eight Day Striking Longcase Clock, signed Emanuel Burton (Junior) Kendal, circa 1780, the nicely figured case with good colour and possibly by Gillows of Lancaster, swan neck pediment with inlaid capitals, arched trunk door flanked by inset stop wooden fluted pilasters, inlaid base with canted corners and bracket shaped feet, 13-inch arch brass dial with a Roman and Arabic chapter ring, dial centre finely engraved with scroll decoration, seconds and date dials, arch with rolling moonphase and tidal scale with corresponding hand, signed above on a silvered plaque Emanuel Burton Junr Kendal, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell

Case pediment with one small piece of moulding missing to the front right hand corner, topside of the trunk door with faint small cracks, lower side of the trunk door is very slightly bowed, dial very slightly discoloured in parts to the silvered surfaces, movement looks all complete, with pendulum and two weights.
