A Late 19th Century Mahogany and Narwhal Tusk Cabinet, the upper section with five Narwhal (Monodon monoceros) tusk supports, four (128cm high) supporting a square moulded platform top above a centre section with a shorter tusk (117.5cm high) supporting three circular revolving platforms, each tusk with a mahogany base moulding, the lower section as a cabinet with two frieze drawers (one with a ratchet writing surface) above upright dividers and a further long drawer, the end sections with two dummy drawers above cupboard doors and a dummy drawer below, the whole raised on castors, cabinet measurements 69cm by 69cm by 82cm, overall measurements 69cm by 69cm by 213cm 
 
Provenance: Purchased circa 1943 by the vendor's father, and thence by descent

Top-tier various splits, top circular tier split to end section, other two tiers are reasonable, base split to top between two tusks, moulding around top some sections are replaced as simulated rosewood, other sections are real rosewood, small sections of veneer missing, false cupboard door veneer lifting (see images) damage to knob handles
