Estimated at £800 - £900
In fully restored condition and the original old panel has split in two places, these splits have been filled and restored and the panel has been keyed at the reverse. There is discoloured restoration along these splits and in other areas - too numerous to mention - and there are further areas of paint shrinkage, crackelure and discoloured restoration camouflaging some of the cracks that are clearly visible in the upper right corner in the sky. The work has also been over-cleaned in certain areas. There is dirt and discoloured varnish with scuff marks and scratches on the surface. It is contained within a plain Scandinavian gilt plaster and wooden moulding probably placed on the work in the 1970/80s.
We are happy to provide Condition Reports to Prospective Buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale.
We cannot guarantee a reply to any requests made within 48 hours of the start of the auction. The absence of a condition report from a lot does not mean that the lot is in perfect condition.

Our Condition Reports are not prepared by professional conservators, restorers or engineers, and are prepared with the naked eye unless otherwise stated.
Works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. We accept no liability for the opinions expressed in any Condition Report.
