Old re-line. Covered in a thick layer of dirt discoloured varnish and fibres transferred from a cloth (which are easily removable). The outline of her head, elements of her hair and arm on which she is resting has been strengthened with relatively small and minor areas of re-touching at her elbow and elsewhere. There is old areas of small re-touching and infilling across her chest, small patch of re-touching/strengthening of drapery to the left of the gem set at her bust. There is a probable vertical tear with associated re-touching on the right hand side of this gem and is approx 3cm in length with associated re-touching. These areas of re-touching within the flesh tones are deteriorating and visible to the eye, there are two further vertical losses, one approx 0.5cm in length on the left hand side of her left hand side cuff and a further one which is approximately 3cm in length, just below her elbow on her forearm, the paint is a little flat and thin in places, generally in stable to reasonable/good condition. Minor rubbing to edges in places.
