In fully restored condition. Re-lined, cleaned and re-varnished. The right half of her hair above her forehead is re-painted and the remainder may have been at an earlier date although more delicate and minor re-touches are evident elsewhere with a lamp. There is relatively consistent re-touching and over painting of various periods within the face and much of the neck is over painted. There is a small horizontal repair with with associated re-touching at her collar bone and is approximately 2cms in length. There is another patch of repair/ re-touching at her left hand side shoulder which is circular in shape. Another damage/ vertical patch of associated re-touching around her hand area ( these are evident by eye) and this is 3-4cms in length. Various old re-touching and infilling to her skirts. Large patch of overpainting next to the left hand side edge, approx halfway up the canvas, with a couple of smaller patches at her left hand side arm. etc. The surface is generally flattened by the process and the paint is consistently fairly thin.

We are happy to provide Condition Reports to Prospective Buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale.

We cannot guarantee a reply to any requests made within 48 hours of the start of the auction. The absence of a condition report from a lot does not mean that the lot is in perfect condition.

 A Condition Report is an honest expression of our opinion, not a statement of fact and is provided as a service to the Seller. All lots are available on public view ahead of an auction and we encourage people to see an item in person when possible.

Our Condition Reports are not prepared by professional conservators, restorers or engineers, and are prepared with the naked eye unless otherwise stated.

 Works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. We accept no liability for the opinions expressed in any Condition Report.
