A Pair of Belleek, Co Fermanagh, White Porcelain Rathmore Table Baskets, First Period, of oval form
The Rathmore Basket is named after the townland whose ancient origins reach back into early celtic history, when the Ulaidh clan established a fort, Rath Mohr, on a hill overlooking Belleek.
Similar baskets are illustrated in Langham (Marion) Belleek Irish Porcelain, pg.52, pl.BS54.
Estimated at £800 - £1,200
In fully restored condition. Faults still present - small chips, losses etc. Due to the fragile nature of this porcelain buyers are expected to view the piece and assess the extent of restoration for themselves as it will not be subject to return. 120609
