A Second World War Royal Navy Submariner Casualty Group of Three Medals, awarded to Able Seaman Frederick Turnbull C/SSX 20030 H.M.Submarine - P.38 Royal Navy, comprising 1939-45 Star. Atlantic Star and War Medal, together with research material
**Able Seaman Turnbull was born in Horden, Co Durham in 1917-18. He was killed in action 23rd February 1942 aged 24, when the Submarine P.38 was sunk with all hands, east of Tripoli, Libya by the Italian torpedo boat Torpediniere CIRCE and Destroyer ANTONIETTA USODIMARE
