An excellent group of 37 stampless entires, assembled individually on the merits of their postmarks, mainly Lancashire and Manchester area towns and villages, particularly Rochdale incl. circular type (1799), arched Leeds (1795 to Rochdale), curved Blackburn (1797 to Rochdale), further Penny Post strikes of Altrincham, Ashton-under-Line, Cheadle, Delph, Dobcross, Lees, Oldham, Staleybridge, Rawtenstall, Upper Mill, etc. Also long boxed 'Penny P. Unpaid' and boxed '1PP' both in red and clear (Manchester-London 1804), oval Ardwick, two-line curved 'Manches-Ter', two-line 'Missent Manchester', double-frame 'Put in after 7 o'clock at night' (1810), etc, etc. A very interesting range with many choice strikes.
