An Alphabet Sampler, worked by Jennet Coer, aged 10 years, dated 1852, of Saint Mark's School, Witton, with three religious verses worked in blue flanked by flowering trees, birds, vases of flowers, Saint Mark's school house surrounded by trees, the title has two young girls worked to either side wearing 19th century dresses in blue, white and caramel, within a brown and cream floral border, in a burr walnut frame

Auction: The Selected Contents of Bell Hall, 15th Nov, 2024

An eclectic and decorative mixture of antiques and contemporary art will be coming under the hammer this autumn, when the Selected Contents of Bell Hall, Naburn, York, will appear in a single-owner sale at Tennants Auctioneers on 15th November.

The collection was put together over several decades, and draws together good period oak furniture, folk art, 19th century samplers, and Asian art alongside modern and contemporary paintings, ceramics and works of art, many pieces with an animal theme.
