To Catch a Thief.
London: for The Crime Club Ltd. by W. Collins & Co Ltd., 1934, first edition, second impression ('1st cheap edition'), 4pp. publisher's advertisements at end, pencil ownership inscription on front free endpaper, original black cloth lettered in orange, very small bump to fore-edge of lower board, dust jacket, priced '3/6 net' on the spine, spine slightly faded, small tear to upper fore-edge of lower panel, couple of very small chips to spine foot, light creasing to top edge, with The Crime Club wrap-around band with '1st Cheap Edition', very good condition overall.
A seemingly very scarce early edition of this crime novel from the so-called 'Golden Age of Detective Fiction'. Cecil Street is perhaps better known under his other pseudonym, John Rhode. Street was a prolific writer and produced many books under several pseudonyms. The first edition, first impression of this title rarely comes to the market; the second impression presented here comes with the original dust jacket and the iconic Collins Crime Club wrap-around band.
