A Marcolini Meissen Porcelain Ornithological Coffee Can and Saucer, circa 1790, the cylindrical can painted with two oval reserves, painted in vivid enamels with tropical and birds of paradise perched in leafy shrubs in open country landscapes, within tooled gilt lines with beaded borders picked out in chocolate brown, linked by swags of husks punctuated by a ribbon tied dish supporting two birds, the circular saucer centred by an eagle owl perched on boulders, being mobbed by four brightly coloured birds including a jay, solid gilt banded rims, blue crossed swords and star mark, the saucer 13.1cm diameter, 6.1cm high See illustration
