First Edition folio brochure giving particulars of the 182-acre south London site and its amenities, lavishly illustrated with 50 sepia plates inside the publisher's pictorial wrappers; the large folding, chromolithograph plan present in its original printed envelope (some folds splitting but overall well preserved), so too the original (very tatty and browned) slipcase. Envelope and wrappers very browned, both with nicked and chipped extremities and the rear cover with tear, marginal foxing to contents, original tissues preserved, text block detached. The park as laid out by Joseph Paxton included a football ground which hosted a number of FA Cup Finals and the Lake surrounded by the giant models of dinosaurs that still stand on the site today. A rare survival, complete as issued (3).
