In good original unlined condition with good thick impasto across most of the surface, however there is some paint shrinkage and crackelure which is particularly noticeable in the girl's blouse. There may be some surface dirt and discoloured varnish but this is minimal. It is contained within its original Victorian elaborately decorated gold leaf plaster and wooden frame with inner gild leaf slip (131010)
