Deyrolle was established in 1831 by Jean-Baptiste Deyrolle who was succeeded by his son Achille. Deyrolle is a reference in the field of taxidermy, various birds beasts and mammals from all over the world can be found at Deyrolle with only a few exceptions, no animal was killed to be mounted: the non-domestic species were sourced from zoos and parks where they died from illness or old age. They are traceable and protected species all conform to CITES regulations
