There is a vertical gauge running through the Madonna's left hand cheek and up towards the top edge, with horizontal gauge/ losses running horizontally at right angle along upper edge being approximately 2cm and 1cm in length respectively. Other minor flaking on the right hand side and left hand side of the halo and further tiny sized sporadic flaking at the right hand side lower section of her red cape and around the Madonna's left hand side hand, sleeve and the Christ child's leg. Further small losses to lower right hand corner. Some old tiny sized flaked paint within the flesh tones of the Christ child, the Madonna's forehead and her hands has been retouched, probably discoloured and is now visible with the eye. General minor rubbing to all edges. Covered in a layer of dirt, discoloured varnish appearing slightly chalky, etc. Not examined with a uv lamp. The frame is broadly in complete and stable condition.
