Example with the cattle coming down the mountainside - Overall reasonable - good state of preservation. Original canvas. Stretcher shadow along the top edge. There is a front to back push mark in the upper left hand corner (which does not puncture the canvas) and a further associated diagonal pressure mark in the upper left hand corner. The canvas is slightly buckled in places. Nick to surface towards lower left hand corner. Further scratch with minimal paint loss to centre left lower edge. There are some very small losses above the mountains right of centre. Isolated medium-large sized cracquelure through surface. Surface dirt and discoloured varnish. Not examined with a UV light. Example with cattle watering- Large scale stable cracquelure which is more evident within the right hand side of the painting. Some general rubbing/ abrasions to the edges and corners. Cluster of tiny sized losses in the lower right hand corner. Original canvas. Canvas slightly buckling in places. Surface dirt and discoloured varnish.
