A French Model 1845 Enlisted Man's Dragoon Helmet, in brass, the high comb embossed with fluting, bands of husks and acanthus leaf tips, with Medusa head terminal and flaming grenade below the plume holder, with black horsehair fall, the left side of the skull with further plume holder, the felt covered turban printed to simulate leopard's skin, with ear rosettes, leather backed chin scales and leather liner

Plumes lacking from holders to comb and side. Some dents to relief decoration on comb sides. Brass heavily tarnished overall. 'Leopard skin' degraded to front edge over peak and with stains, slight wear and small holes in places. Securing screw to one ear rosette lacking. One side of chin scales poor and leather securing strap broken and lacking. Leather ten tongue liner in tact but very dry. Padded scrim brow band intact. Leather lining to peak and tailpiece dry and with some cracking.
