♦Ancient Greece, Colony of Sicily, Syracuse Silver Tetradrachm, circa 480BC (under the rule of the tyrant Gelon 485-478BC); obv. quadriga driven right by charioteer, small winged figure of Nike flying above, rev. small head of Artemis-Arethusa, a diadem of beads dividing her hair & wearing a pearl necklace, four dolphins swimming clockwise around head, SVRAKOSION in field around head; diameter 22mm, wt. 17.24g, .971 silver (tested & verified), overall VG, parts a little better, RARE
