Painted on a fine canvas which has split and is beginning to lift along the lower edge to left hand side at three main junctures, the longest being approx 1.5cm in length (images can be provided). The canvas is also slightly buckled in lower right hand corner and upper right hand corner. Small subtle and stable areas of fine craquelure. Otherwise in an overall good and original state of preservation. With some possible minor retouching/strengthening to the outline of the figures lower right hand side.

We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
