A. Gittleson (20th century School) portrait of John Roger Butterwick of Kirkham, in the borough of Hartlepool, in the Commision of the Peace for the said Borough and Mayor in 1930/35. Born at Stockton in Tees, County Durham on 30th August, 1849. Died on 8th May, 1932 at Hartlepool, togther with its companion, a portrait of his wife Jane Anne, daughter of John Coverdale of Hartlepool, Ship owners. Born there on 22nd June, 1853 and there married on 26th September 1878. Died on 5th January, 1927 at Hartlepool, oils on canvas, each 37cms by 29.5 cms, one signed, together with four coaching prints (6)
