Covered in a layer of dirt and discoloured varnish. Slight stretcher shadow. Essentially vertically arranged cracquelure mostly contained to right-hand side 50% particularly sky and central swathe. A patch of retouching within hillside towards upper left-hand corner approx 1cm by 0.5cm. Further patches of overpainting within the sky. Four being of a more defined and consistent area. The largest towards the upper right-hand corner approx 1 cm by 3 cm overall. cluster of further smaller scale retouches within the sky above the central horizon. Some general strengthening within the darkest tones and shadows of the canopy and trees and roots approx centre. Retouching to right-hand side edge, lower 50%. Touches of some general strengthening within darker tones in foreground etc.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
