Original canvas which is slightly loose on stretcher and buckling to upper left-hand corner. Some Rubbing and losses to left-hand side edge.  with some fairly rudimentary retouching especially along lower half. The paint is thin/abraided and retouched in mostly the upper part of the scarlet bow. Further small patch of retouching/strengthening below the cards. Crack to the surface above her head approx 6cm and right. Patch of basic visible and flaking retouching at her left shoulder within her hair approximately 1cm wide by 3cm in length - with possible associated repair patch to reverse (obscured by stretcher?). Flaking paint along lower edge and lower right-hand corner (see images) with a band of rudimentary visible retouching. Aside from obvious losses the paint is also slightly lifting and looking somewhat precarious in this general vicinity. Patch of black tape to reverse upper left of stretcher (see images). Widely spaced essentially stable cracquelure throughout elsewhere. Stretcher shadow. Odd minor scuff/abrasion. Surface dirt discoloured and slightly deteriorated varnish.
