In an overall good and stable state of preservation, cleaned and re-varnished. Isolate areas of fine stable cracquelure. Retouching and strengthening to upper left-hand corner, across top edge to foliage and down left-hand side edge of foliage and approx 4cm at widest point. Retouching to a lesser extent upper right-hand corner and along the remainder of top edge. More sporadic retouching and strengthening to branches and darker tones of the vegetation to background upper right and to a lesser degree in foliage elsewhere. Some sporadic retouching and retouching, darker tones and shadows within the underside of the eel pot, isolated parts of the gentleman's collar, face, and hat to include replacing small flecks of flaked paint presumably.
