Taxidermy: A Late Victorian Northern Hawk-Owl (Surnia ulula), circa 1870-1900, a full mount adult perched upon a bare branch with head turning to the left, set against a plain cream painted interior, re-cased within a period style ebonised single-glass table display case, 31cm by 18cm by 41cm, mounted very much in the manner of North East Taxidermist's such as Robert Duncan and Joseph Cullingford, each adopted this simple, clean, yet very effective process of letting the natural beauty of the specimen show, and not be overpowered by a cluttered interior
