Small amount of delicate retouches to upper left hand corner and sporadically along upper left hand side edge. There is a small and delicate amount of sporadic linear strengthening to some of the darker shadows and definition within the coat of left hand side gentlemen, especially his right arm, small amount of his lapel and to a greater degree his left hand leg. Further minor amount of retouching lower left hand corner, lower left hand side bottom edge and the odd further dash of strengthening to upper right hand side edge and minor areas within the attire of right hand side figure. Cleaned and re varnished, some light surface dirt and discoloured varnish. The right hand side edge has a mild degree of rubbing/abrasion, also upper right hand corner. Extremely subtle areas of fine craquelure. Otherwise in a good and original state of preservation.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
