Sold by Order of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers to Benefit the Fusiliers Aid Society (13 January Jewellery, Watches and Silver sale, lots 2273-2307 and Antiques and Interiors sale, 5 January 2024 lots 1-16).
The inscription reads 'Presented by 2nd Lieut. A. H Hince on Appointment to the Lancashire Fusiliers'.
The London Gazette of 5 September 1899 records the promotion of Arthur Harr Hince, Gent., to second Lieutenant of the 5th and 6th Battalion, the Lancashire Fusiliers on 6 September 1899.
