A Victorian Silver Goblet, Marks Worn, London, Circa 1899, tapering cylindrical and on spreading base with beaded border, one side engraved with the badge of the 5th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers, the other side engraved with an inscription, 15.6cm high, 10oz 11dwt, 327gr

Sold by Order of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers to Benefit the Fusiliers Aid Society (13 January Jewellery, Watches and Silver sale, lots 2273-2307 and Antiques and Interiors sale, 5 January 2024 lots 1-16).

The inscription reads 'Presented by 2nd Lieut. A. H Hince on Appointment to the Lancashire Fusiliers'.

The London Gazette of 5 September 1899 records the promotion of Arthur Harr Hince, Gent., to second Lieutenant of the 5th and 6th Battalion, the Lancashire Fusiliers on 6 September 1899.
