November 1886 to 1898 Queen Victoria issues complete mostly mint, excellent quality with much unmounted and a few plate numbers making a very attractive page. The 1886-87 set mint to 6d and used 1/- lightly canceled and signed, 1889 surcharges set complete mint never hinged save the 40cts hinged, crease on 50cts hardly apparent from the front. Then the 1889-96 Spanish currency series incl. both 25cts shades, all MNH except the 20cts olive green used (cat. £100), 75cts and 1889 1p both used. Also the 1898 Sterling currency set mint. Total cat. £1,350.

261 lots including several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
