A mid-19th century ship's brass binnacle compass by H Hughes & Son, London, with gimbal, mounted in a brass hooded binnacle with two bevelled glass viewing windows, flanked by two lift-out candle lanterns with glazed hinged doors, the lower case indistinctly engraved ''....London'', the whole raised on an oak pedestal with fluted decoration and rope side handles, on a stepped square plinth, 156cm overall

. Compass in good working order. Case with dents and some small holes, oak pedestal is weather worn and with some vacant holes.
