A Loggerhead "Blonde" Turtle Shell, probably early 19th century, attractively marked, 66.5cm...

There are some signs of glue to the sections, particularly towards the edges (there does not appear to be actual breakage and the glue just seems to be to hold these sections firm). Other small areas of glue on the rear edge (centre). The shell lacks patination, and has light fawn coloured paint to the interior. There is a small 'dig' on the shell, just off the centre of the dome and there is a small (probably natural) chip just to the right side of the front rim. Sold a/f. 100909
