. In restored condition. Relined, cleaned and re-varnished. There are two more notable but still small areas of retouching/overpainting. One within the jar on the right hand side centre and is approx 0.5cm by 1cm, the other is just left of the top of the bottles in the same area and is approx half the size. There is a small amount of sporadic and fine retouching in this general vicinity, presumably to old flaked paint. Further tiny retouched along lower edge and foreground. Some of the darker areas and shadows possibly strengthened. Subtle stretcher shadow. Essentially fine, stable craquelure throughout. Some slight surface dirt and discoloured varnish. Otherwise in a good and stable state of preservation.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
